Xiang’an Campus of XMU Wraps Up the Second Campus Brisk Walking Activity

On 29 March, Xiang’an Campus of XMU kicked off its 2nd Campus Brisk Walking Activity. The activity, organized by the Trade Union of XMU and the Administrative Committee of Xiang'an Campus, received enthusiastic responses from faculty members as well as students. Hong Qiuxia, Executive Vice-chairman of the Trade Union of XMU, and Ma Long, Deputy Director of Administration Committee of Xiang’an Campus, attended the activity.

In her speech, Hong Qiuxia mentioned that the year 2024 marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of the renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee and therefore the activity set 8 spots with the theme of the spirit of Mr. Tan Kah Kee to tick off. Hong expressed her hope that teachers and students would carry forward Tan's spirit and strive for new achievements.

The teachers and students met on the South Square of Dewang Library for a 5-minute warm-up session, ensuring that their muscles were properly warmed up for a brisk walk.

With the firing of the starting pistol, students burst into a run alongside teachers. Surrounded by such a friendly and encouraging environment, teachers and students were motivated to walk faster than ever.

The participating teachers and students of various ethnic groups stamped their cards and posed for a photograph at the themed spots, displaying their sense of camaraderie.

The Campus Brisk Walking Activity not only fostered a health-conscious mindset and improve physical fitness of the faculty and students but also strengthened their unity and cooperation, encouraging them to forge ahead with enterprise and fortitude.
