Highlight video of the lecture "What Does a Novelist Do" at XMU Xiang'an Campus
On November 17, the renowned writer, Cai Chongda visited Xiamen University, and delivered a lecture on "What Does a Novelist Do" at Xiamen University Xiang'an Campus.

In his lecture, Cai Chongda brought to light the fact that AI-generated novels are gradually emerging, forming an interesting competition and cooperation with traditional writers. Who holds the upper hand in this “battle”? Will human writers be supplanted by AI? Although AI, with its immense computational power, might be capable of churning out a piece of literature that finds favor among a significant number of people, it can never take our place in the realm of literary creation. Literary creation is deeply anchored in personal experiences, profound emotions, and an insatiable curiosity about our souls.

As one of the series of activities to foster a book-loving campus, the lecture drew a large and enthusiastic crowd. In the interaction session, Cai answered questions pertaining to his works.
